Since the Middle Ages, the presence of Jews has been attested to in Haguenau without interruption.

The beautiful classical synagogue dates from 1820. Damaged during the last war, it was reopened in 1959. In its entrance, you can admire the plaques from 2 older synagogues (1492 and 1683).

The Haguenau cemetery is perhaps the oldest in Alsace (12th century). it contains around 3000 tombs, the oldest of which dates from 1654.

The historical museum of Haguenau presents a Jewish collection, small but of great quality.

Visit of the synagogue and cemetery by appointment for groups.
